Maison Violet was founded in Paris in 1827 by François-Étienne Violet, building a reputation for perfumery, cosmetics and technical innovation before the house fell quiet around 1955. Revived in 2017 by three perfumery students, Violet returned with a clear interest in recovering the structure, craft and emotional resonance of classical French perfumery rather than reproducing the past literally.

Today the house works through two complementary collections. Héritage revisits the codes and constructions associated with twentieth-century perfumery, while Expression allows the same sensibility to move into more contemporary territory. Across both, the emphasis remains on proportion, texture and recognisable materials rather than spectacle.

Maison Violet is distinguished by the way nostalgia is edited: historically conscious, distinctly Parisian and polished, but rarely nostalgic for its own sake.
