Hora de la Verdad sol translates the tension of bullfighting into a dry, sharply spiced leather floral. Bergamot and Seville orange meet coriander, Timut pepper and pink pepper in the opening; Spanish saffron, Turkish rose absolute and geranium form a metallic, aromatic heart. Vetiver, leather, ambergris, musk and a large dose of Spanish labdanum darken the base. Inspired by Hemingway’s Death in the Afternoon, Senyokô treats the relationship between bull and matador as a chiaroscuro of attraction and opposition, using a deliberately edged interpretation of Peau d’Espagne.
