La Tsarine interprets Catherine the Great through deliberate contradiction. Blackcurrant, honey, saffron, petitgrain and clary sage open with sweetness and spice before tuberose, narcissus, dried fruits, cumin, jasmine and orange blossom bring a lush floral centre. Underneath, musk, civet, costus, castoreum, papyrus, woods, oakmoss and fir balsam make the composition increasingly bodily and animalic. Senyokô frames this as the collision of public authority and private appetite: polished floral and fruit notes set against sweat, fur, skin and dry woods.
