Moonmilk draws on the writings of Swiss naturalist Conrad Gessner, who described entering Alpine caves around Mount Pilatus in 1555 and seeing moonlight appear to gather like mist among the limestone formations. Stora Skuggan turns that strange image into a composition centred on contrast and texture. Black tea and lime provide a crisp opening, followed by cardamom, lily-of-the-valley, mandarin and black pepper. Mysore sandalwood and tan leather bring softness and depth, allowing the fragrance to move gradually from bright aromatic freshness toward something smoother, quieter and more grounded.
